Dottie and Piggys Poo Solution!

Since I decided I wanted to pee and poo outside...instead of in the litter box....it created a problem!  Lifting me hurt Dotties back.  She still had to lift me and carry me outside.  Then she'd put me in the wheelbarrel, and cart me to the kennel....so I could poo!  Where I has growing to heavy to carry...we had to work together to find a solution!  Quick!
Dottie built me this ramp system...so when I have to "go"...all she has to do is open the door....and I can walk to my poo corner...all by myself!
First...I have to walk across the deck!
Then I have to walk down this long ramp to the big deck.  She built a large turn around area there for me to turn around if I have too!
Then I walk across the big deck...to the last ramp!
Then I have the bottom ramp to walk down...and I'm almost there!
At this point...I'm running to my corner!
Aaaaahhhhhhh!  How do you spell relief?!!
Then...when I'm all done....I walk up the ramp...
Walk across the big deck...
Turn the corner...
Head up the long ramp...
Walk across the small deck...
When I get to the door...there's a bowl of food waiting for me!  How good is that!

I made it sound easy...but it wasn't at first!  We've been working on it for a week now!

When she first built my poo area...she had to carry me down all the ramps to the bottom.  I was way too scared to do it on my own!  Once we got down there...we worked together digging up all her rocks that got covered over the years!
I'd use my nose like a shovel...and dig the rocks up!  Dottie would take them...and toss them into the bucket on the tractor!
We found lots of rocks!
We really bonded while we worked away!  It was fun to have rock finding in common!

The left side is my living, playing, eating area!

The right side is my poo area!
Ever hear of "pig in a blanket"?  That's ME!
Take a picture of me....Dottie!
I'm hungry....can I have my bottle?
I'm the one who taught Piggy how to go up and down the ramps!  To me....it was just a big play thing to run up and down on.  Dottie started by putting Piggy on the bottom ramp so she had to walk down the rest of the way.  Each time Piggy had to go...Dottie put her down closer to the door and made her walk the rest of the way!
When Piggy got scared and started squealing...I'd run down and show her how to get back to the door!  She'd follow me!
She'd follow me right up to the door...but she wouldn't go over the threshold!  So Dottie had to pick her up...and put her on the other side!

Dottie would put my food bowl just inside the door...but I was still too afraid to walk across the threshold!  Too many different floors!  The carpet...the wood...the deck...the ramp....It's alot for a pig to get use to!

I like walking on the ground!

Every time I made it to the door...she'd put the food bowl further and further inside!  Sometimes she'd lift me and put me over the threshold...but I was getting use to it now!  And you can't keep a pig from the food!  So I learned that the different floors were safe!  The treshold wasn't going to eat me!  It took alot of raisins and appricots....but ......

Ta - Da!

I finally did it!

So...now...whenever I have to go....

I snort and squeal...

She opens the gate to let me out...
I go right out the door...all by myself!
Run down the ramp to do my thing...
Do my thing...
Take a snooze...
Play with my toys...
And when I'm ready...I head back up the ramps....
I grunt at the door 'till she opens it...
Walk over the threshold and go in the door...
Go around the corner ...
And right back to my pen!
I always get a treat when I come back in!  Today it's a crunched up paper bag with apple pieces in it!  I get to tear it apart to get to the goodies!  Am I a lucky pig or what!
